Get over to Synergy Styles to take advantage of their clearout of ex-display and showroom stock.

Less than half price is this Sanderson sofa in a fresh green with lovely rolled arms at just £799, down from three grand. Both pieces are one-off bespoke creations upholstered in designer fabric, so there's just one of each available. At those prices it'd almost be rude not to, wouldn't it?

New Store: Chairs & Wares

The Cotswold Company has just launched its latest venture, online chair 'superstore' Chairs & Wares. The store aims to offer chairs at around 25% less than you'd find elsewhere and stocks a wide range of popular designs and has a made-to-order line as well.

I've been eyeing up the lovely fat floor cushions which come in a range of fabrics including leather, faux suede, corduroy and, Autumn favourite, tweed. They bring to mind that favourite fantasy during cold weather: laying around in front of a roaring fire on piles of cushions. They're priced at £55 or £70 for leather and come with free delivery as a launch promotion.

Heavily discounted sofas

If you're looking for a simple sofa that won't break the bank, check out the Siro range at LXdirect. It's not a shop you'd normally think of for stylish products for your home, and agreed, much of the stuff in their sale isn't of particular note, but this range with its clean, simple lines caught my eye. Available are two-seater, three-seater and corner units in tan, chocolate, black and cream faux leather at discounts ranging from 40% to 55% for the smaller sofa shown in cream which is £250, down from £550.

Fabulous chairs by Aiveen Daly

If you're a fan of eclectic furniture, check out the fabulous designs of Aiveen Daly. Her quirky handmade chairs have a wonderful sense of vintage style - with a twist.

I love the retro 'Swivel' above, a piece commissioned by Liberty and Elle Deco covered in Liberty shirt fabrics, and the detail of the tiny buttons on the 'Bubble gum' pink denim Victorian chair (£545 plus fabric).

However, I don't know if I can really pick a favourite as her designs are quite diverse, and all gorgeous. Shown below are Spank, Blossom, Puff and Moneypenny ranging from £495 to £2975, plus fabric.

Marks & Spencer are currently offering 3 for 2 on most of their cushions, so take advantage to update the look of your sofa. Many on offer are a bit blah, though my pick would be the multi-stripe corduroy (I am a bit of a stripe freak).

Furnishings at Matalan

What is it about cut price stores these days? First it was Primark leading the fashion charge, and now Matalan's following suit with some lovely homewares.

 

I love these tub chair and footstool sets - especially the red gingham. For only £99, they'd be great as a corner chair for the bedroom. I can just see my cute 50s style summer dresses draped over it, well, I could if the weather would get its act together!

Also check out the new co-ordinating cushion range including a cute teal with chinoiserie print for £10, and rose print and textured rhubarb-coloured cushions for £8 each.
