Fur really is luxurious, especially for winter. While I wouldn't feel comfortable with real fur in my home, faux fur can give you the same decadent feeling, without harming any little beasties. Here's a round-up of some of the fake fur options for throws and blankets currently on offer to have you snuggling up over the winter months...
First up is Heal's who has a couple of options. There's this lovely silver, almost shimmering, rippled faux fur throw and cushion set (shown) starting at £100...
They also have the same set in cocoa faux fur and a more neutral colour called 'latte', each starting at £75, plus some very cute hot water bottle covers that are unfortunately sold out.
Dwell also has a number of faux fur bedding options including the 'arctic wolf' throw (shown) at £65, and the 'husky' fur throw at £89.
Very similar to the silver throw above is this gold rippled faux fur throw from Star by Julien Macdonald. It's backed with satin and this piece of designer decadence is £130 from Debenhams and also available in white.
John Lewis has two throws at £80 each and you can still order for Christmas delivery (hurry, ends tomorrow at 3pm), and they're offering free shipping on all orders. Your options here are the 'Russia' faux fur throw (shown), and the same in 'arctic fox'.

uh... i can't imagine using husky's fur as my blankie.. the idea of the animal being killed for its skin is scary. But i like room decors though, i usually read up tips like this>>http://dealsdepot.com.au /a14/Bedroom-Furniture/article_info.html before i decide on what to buy.

I think if anyone's looking for fur throws it has to be faux fur throws.
They feel the same, are just as warm, cost less and most are machine washable.
Plus like you said they don't harm any animals.
Great article by the way, thanks for sharing this with us

This article is now very out of date, most of products listed are no longer available or price has gone up. But I would recommend that anyone interested in buying a faux fur throw looks at one of the specialist sites rather than the department stores listed above. They have bigger ranges and more information and will supply swatches on request
